OK I know it’s Monday, but yesterday we went out for Sunday lunch with Nanny and Grampy. The great thing is our local pub is dog friendly, so I got to go too:-)
I tried to help nanny with her dinner, but she said she could manage it herself:-(
Thankfully Daddy was more accommodating
I hate being left behind so it was great to join them, even if I did spend most of it having to watch them eat.
While nanny was here, she gave me one of mummy’s old toys. He’s a one-armed squeaky bunny. Nanny is clearing out some of mummy and her brother’s old toys to give to my new baby cousin, but this bunny didn’t make the grade. I don’t mind him being a hand-me-down, I’ve been having loads of fun playing with him. Can you tell?
Mummy is wondering how long he’ll keep his other arm lol.
Did you have a good weekend?
Daddy needed to pick something up from a friend so they arranged to meet up at a pub. Mummy and I went along for the ride. Luckily the weather was nice so we were able to sit outside and a few people came up to me to say hello. I just love making new friends, especially when they say nice things about how pretty I am:-)
But after a little while everyone seemed to forget about me:-(
And then they decided to order food, which meant I’d have to sit and watch them – how mean is that! But mummy produced a filled hoof from her bag – yummy! I sat and crunched away while various people walked past me and I didn’t even blink in their direction. Gotta love a nice smelly hoof:-)
Did you eat out today?
As usual I’m behind reading all your bloggies. Mummy has been crazy busy at work, plus she’s at a conference over the next couple of days so not sure how much she’ll be able to help me. Please bear with me though and hopefully I’ll be able to resume visiting you again soon.
Most pubs have outside seating which means doggies like me can sit and enjoy a pint;-) But very few pubs allow dogs inside. Except for the one down the road from us which is completely doggie friendly! So the other day we decided to see how I’d react if mummy, daddy, nanny and grampy had a meal while I was with them.
I think it will take a couple more trips to get comfortable and ‘settle down’ as daddy kept asking me to do, but it was fun to be able to join them for a meal rather than being left home as usual.
As you know we had guests this weekend. Having extra people in the house is amazing: twice as many cuddles and twice as many people to give puppy dog eyes to when there’s food around:-) It’s a win-win situation.
Auntie Els’s bf, Uncle Lee, is into Geocaching – just like my boydawg Gizmo! So when we went out for a walk, we looked for a couple of caches. How cool is that! Caching is great fun, and perfect activity to do with us doggies. Gizmo is a superstar geocacher, so if you want to know more about it, you should swing by his and he can fill you in.
After finding a couple of caches, they stopped for a drink by the river and I kept an eye on the ducks!
I also found a dead mouse. There is some debate over whether the mouse was dead before I found it. I say it was. But when daddy and uncle Lee took it off me they said it looked ‘fresh’. I maintain that’s how I found it!
Hope you are all having a great weekend. I hear the rustle of food, so better go check it out and see what I can score:-)
As daddy has done loads of driving recently, what with his trip to Wales and the wedding yesterday, he wasn’t too keen on going too far today. So we ended up heading towards the river for our Sunday walk. We took a different route though, stopped for a drink at the pub and found both a secluded woody area and also a gated field, so I was able to have a run around and stretch my legs:-)
