Yesterday it hit 36°C in the UK – craziness!
Mummy has been taking me to the river in the mornings so I can have a cooling swim, and through the day I have plenty of water and fresh air. I’m pretty good at finding cool places to sleep so funnily enough I think mummy and daddy are suffering more than I am!
At the height of the heat I made myself comfortable in front of the fan.
The weather reports are saying we may get thunderstorms today, so I’m hoping that will cool the air. If not, then it’s more frozen treats and swims for me. Can’t complain!
There are lots of warnings across social media about being careful when walking on the pavement in the heat, about making sure to avoid walking during the hottest parts of the day, and most of all not to leave us in stationary cars. So please be vigilant.
Keep cool everyone. I’m heading back for a nap 🙂
It’s far too hot for me. It’s been well in the 30s (centigrade) for the past few days and I’m melting! We have had some rain but it hasn’t cleared the air at all, it’s still humid and sticky. The only thing that’s seeing me through is dreaming of lovely cold snow. I’m thinking of moving to Australia where it’s winter – Fozziemum if I pack myself up in a box, can I stay with you till Spring??
We’re in the grip of a mini heatwave here in the UK and I am sweating my fur off! I’ve been sleeping on the kitchen floor where it’s cool and dipping my toes in the paddling pool as often as I can.
So this is just a quick reminder to keep cool. Drink lots, stay in the shade and eat lots of frozen treats:-) I am to milk it for all I can lol.
Keep cool everyone!
Yesterday I had a good run around in one of my favourite gated fields. Daddy and I played hide and seek, I sproinged around the grass and generally had a great time doing zoomies. But all that rushing about left me pretty thirsty.
Usually mummy takes some water with us but as she’d assumed we’d be stopping by this pool she hadn’t (silly mummy!). By the time we got home I was completely parched and pretty hot. So I quickly emptied my water bowl and spent some time like this cooling down. Daddy said I looked like Mother Theresa BOL
Its supposed to be crazy hot again this week. So I’m thinking of moving to a colder climate. Maybe I’ll head to Alaska, what do you think??
First of all big congrats to Andy Murray for winning Wimbledon!! As you can imagine this has been great news for us in the UK:-) So last night we had a little BBQ to celebrate that and the warm weather. It was crazy hot and I didn’t get as many sneaky treats as I was hoping:-(
Mummy has been going overdrive trying to keep me cool, but instead of buying me a stylish cooling jacket at the dog show yesterday, she decided that a wet towel would do just as well. Hmmm not quite the same is it?
In the meantime, thank you to Sammy for giving me this cool award!
All I have to do is thank the blogger who nominated me Thank you Sammy! And tell what my six favorite things are then pass it on to whoever I want to!
My six favorite things are:
- Food, in any shape or form. As long as its edible I’ll eat it:-)
- Bellyrubs – can get enough!
- Wrestling with daddy:-)
- Playing with friends
- Did I mention food??
Who will I pass this on to?
Today we went to the All About Dogs Show in Southend but it was crazy hot so we didn’t stay long. We got there really early and I had a quick go at the agility course before it got busy. I’ve almost got the handle of jumping over the hurdles now. But my favourite part is the A frame, I didn’t need any prompting to run over that:-) Daddy took loads of pictures of that part so I’ll show some more at a later date. I just hope mummy and daddy will get themselves organised and sign me up for an agility class soon.
I made a few friends and was pleased to see that the Inuit dogs who were at the previous event all recognised me. Everyone watching was amazed that as soon as the dogs saw me they rushed over to say hello and one tried to play with me through the fence:-)
The Dock Dogs people were there too. The were hosting an event where you dive into a big swimming pool and the dog who could dive the furthest won a prize. As I’m new to swimming daddy didn’t think I’d even try it but as it was hot it seemed like a good way to cool down. I didn’t dive in as you’re supposed to but I did cautiously go down the ramp and even did a bit of a doggy paddle. I tried to get out of the side of the pool though which made everyone laugh. Needless to say I didn’t make it into the actual contest.
I hope you’re all keeping cool. I’m in front of the fan covered in a wet towel lol. We might have a BBQ later – yum:-)
Thanks to everyone for participating in my ball skills contest, all the entries were fab, but sadly there can only be one winner. And that is…
Congrats Phod. I’ll drop you an email to organise your prize:-)
It’s been super hot the last couple of days so I’ve been splashing around in my paddling pool:-)
Hope you’re keeping cool too.
Have a great Friday everyone!
I’ts been super hot and humid the last few days so I’ve spent as much as it as I can chilling out in cool spots.
As well as the usual things like drinking lots of water and playing with ice cubes, mummy made me some of Emma‘s yummy frozen and blueberry yogurt treats. We don’t have a fancy mold so mummy used a fish-shaped ice cube tray instead.
Thanks for the idea Ems, they sure are tasty!
What do you do to stay cool??
The summer is finally here!! But Daddy is flaked out in front of the fan and says its too hot to play 😦
Its supposed to hit 28°C this afternoon – wow! It wasn’t too bad this morning as the grass was wet in the park so I had a lovely roll around and got nice and dirty, especially as there was fox poo around hehe. Mummy wasn’t too impressed though.
Keep cool everyone!
