Merry Christmas!!

I haven’t blogged in forever, but wanted to stop by to wish everyone a lovely Christmas. Our tree is up, my presents are underneath and I’ve been tracking Santa’s progress and hope he gets here soon! I’m all ready for him:-)

Most of all I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has sent me cards and ecards, I’ve been truly touched that you remembered me even though I haven’t blogged in so long. I hope to get back to it in the New Year. I already have a competition in mind 🙂

But in the meantime, have a lovely time and looking forward to catching up with you all soon.

Christmas catch-up

I had a lovely Christmas, and I hope you did too.

When I last posted, the weather had been bad. But by the evening of Christmas eve, it had calmed down alot. So daddy suggested we drive to Brick Lane to get some bagels for Christmas morning. Brick Lane is in East London, I’m not sure how well known it is outside of London but it’s the place to go for a curry. But more than that, it’s the home of an amazing 24-hour jewish bakery. We met some of daddy’s friends there which was fun.

Then Christmas day we went to the park for a walk before heading to nanny and grampy’s and I bumped into my buddy Sebastian. He’s a landseer and I had great fun playing with him. I saw him again on the 26th and we met up again today, how cool is that! The rest of the day was was filled with presents, Christmas dinner and a dinosaur bone for me:-)

Then Boxing day my doggy cousin Dizzy came over and we chased each other all over the place. The only thing is where she’s a saluki she’s always biting my cheeks and trying to hump me:/

In the meantime, Bashful enjoyed his dinner, got chased by a dalek and showed off his card skills (I think he picked them up from his stay with Easy!)

Here are a few pictures from the past couple of days:

ps. I’m now reading all your blogs through Bloglovin, so if you notice I’ve unsubscribed from your blog, its not that I’m not reading it anymore.

Christmas Eve!

The weather was horrible yesterday with heavy rain and strong winds, so mummy has had to abandon her trip into the big smoke. We’re only half an hour by train, but as with all British transport, as soon as we have ‘adverse weather conditions’ everything grinds to a halt. And typically our trainline has been plagued with fallen trees on the line which has disrupted the service. But she’s promised to take Bashful in the new year. Instead we took him for a walk in the park. We made him a small rain hat so he didn’t get too wet, but luckily it only drizzled a little and it’s not that windy anymore.

We don’t have many rocks in the park, but I showed him our Newfoundland one:2013-12-24 08.27.29

And also introduced him to the stone turtle:

When we got back we helped mummy ice the christmas cake. She made Bashful a marzipan friend so he wouldn’t get lonely.

But when Bashful wasn’t looking she took a bite out of him – what a meanie! 2013-12-23 10.45.20

Guess I’m going to have to think of some way to cheer him up…Maybe he’d like another wash?

Anyway, we’ll be taking a break for a couple of days while we’re at nanny and grampy’s, so have a lovely Christmas from me and Bashful xxx

Bashful’s second day

As you know Bashful is staying with me until the New year so I spent today helping to make him comfortable. First of all I helped him to unpack his box

Check our the cool piggy toy!

And then I treated him, as I would any guest, to a nice wash:

When he was nice and refreshed, he and I helped mummy wrap up some of the Christmas presents. Only mummy got a bit carried away:

Luckily I realised in time and helped him to break free. Phew!

A little later in the day he went missing. I was worried! I looked everywhere for him until eventually I spotted a familiar face in the tree:

Yep Bashful had found a santa hat and got quite into the Christmas spirit (I did wonder if he’d got into the spirits too lol).

Mummy was hoping to take him into London but the weather is supposed to be pretty dire over the next few days with strong gales heading our way. If the trains are affected their trip may have to wait till after Christmas, which is a shame.

Anyway, hope you are all enjoying the run-up to Christmas. London trip or not, I’ll have more Bashful news for you tomorrow:-)

My Christmas card

I’ve had lots of lovely Christmas cards so far, but as I didn’t join any of the mailing lists I know I’ve missed sending some of you a card. So I’ve made an ecard below for you all. If you would like me to email it to you instead, please let me know.

Misaki's Christmas card

I can’t wait for Christmas!! We’re spending the big day at my nanny and grampy’s. Where will you be this christmas?

decoration time!

Yesterday I helped mummy decorate the tree and I hung up my stocking all ready for Santa Paws.

I gave all the decorations a good sniff of approval and then we made a start. When Mummy went to lay the skirt over the bottom of the tree, I got in the way hehehe.

DSC_0715I think I look like a superhero. But daddy said I could be a magician in this cape, maybe Misaki the Magnificent! What do you think? Daddy said it makes sense, afterall I make food disappear without a trace LOL

Have you put your tree up yet?

Since writing this I’ve heard that poor Pip from Molly the Wally has gone to the bridge. Sending love and hugs to you at this sad time xxxxx

December already

Can you believe it’s December?! I’m so happy that I got to open the first door on my advent calendar yesterday. And I got my first Christmas card:-) Mummy and daddy haven’t got any yet hahahaha!

Check out my ‘baby Misaki’ snowglobe:-)

To make the start of the month even better, Mummy also made these cool cheese biscuits for me. Daddy tried one and said they weren’t very good, but they weren’t for him!

I liked them and that’s all that matters:-)

DSC_0693There is also talk of pupcakes and I saw something being hidden on top of the freezer which is mummy’s favourite hiding place…I wonder what has brought all this on? Maybe you should pop back tomorrow to find out!

Snuggles with Daddy

As you know daddy is off this week and he’s been super lazy so far. Yesterday he didn’t even wake up when mummy and I went for our morning walkies! I made a small effort to try to wake him, but I soon gave up and decided to have a morning of snuggles instead.

I’m hoping to motivate him a bit more today. We’re due a re-match on our tug of game and we need to get in some wrestling too. But for now I think I’ll have another snooze. I’m trying to make the most of it as he starts his new job on Tuesday.

Tomorrow mummy is at the Christmas bazaar as my Grampy has to perform his official duties as a Santa agent. Grampy has to help the big guy in red by collecting gift lists from the kids in the run-up to Christmas. He does this every year and he has a great time.

Grampy as Santa

Grampy as Santa

I was hoping I could go too and audition for a place on Santa’s sleigh team – we all know that the reindeer thing is just a PR stunt, right? But Mummy says no doggies are allowed in the hall:-( So I’ll have to think of another way to catch his eye.

What are you up to this weekend?

Being good

After the confessions last week I’m a bit worried about getting on Santa’s naughty list. So I thought I’d highlight some of the good things I do in the hope they will cancel out any questionable behaviour. Santa Paws please read this, I’m good really!

1. I never wee indoors
Whenever I need to go, I always ask mummy to let me out.  Even if it’s 2am and she’s fast asleep, or if daddy has just literally left for work at 4.30am. I give her a lick or nudge her with my nose until she wakes up. Sometimes when we get to the backdoor I realise I don’t actually need to go. But better safe then sorry, right?

2. I’m a great alarm clock
I admit that sometimes I forget that it’s Sunday and wake mummy and daddy early, but it’s good to stick to a routine. Plus yesterday when mummy forgot to set her alarm I woke her up in time for walkies, and less importantly, work.

3. I give the best washes
Yep, no need for a bath before coming to chez Misaki, I’ve got you covered. You may think you don’t need one, but believe me – you do. And I’m happy to do it. You may not really want to be washed all over your face but I’m fairly sure that doggie slobber is great for crows feet and combating other signs of ageing (patent pending).

4. No food waste
No need to let any food go to waste when I’m about. If you can’t finish your dinner no need to throw it in the bin, I’ll happily eat it for you. I’ll even pre-wash all the dishes before they go in the dishwasher to make sure they’re extra clean.

Do you think that’s enough to get me on Santa’s good list? I hope so!

And what about you, what special things do you do to help your peeps?
