Posted: April 8, 2014 Filed under: toys | Tags: alaskan malamute, ball, dog, lost toy 75 CommentsHave you ever lost your favourite toy? Whether under the bed, behind the sofa, or in the bushes in the garden? Well, that’s what happened to me. This is a picture of my blue ball from October 2012.
I’m not a huge fan of balls unless they squeak, which this one did when I first got it. I loved chomping on it over and over again. Anyway, it went missing for ages and I thought it was gone forever. But then the other week it reappeared from whatever alternate dimension it had got lost in. And since then I’ve been playing with it constantly. It doesn’t squeak and it’s more ‘hole’ than whole lol. But it’s great fun to chew on, and I love it when mummy or daddy chase me for it:-)
Did you ever notice that discovering old toys is almost like getting a new one? That’s how it is for me anyway. I hope it doesn’t get lost again anytime soon.

Oh Misaki…I know what you mean about finding a lost toy! When I discover some long lost Bo-Bo it’s like Christmas morning all over again! That happened a lot at my Grandma’s house…but somehow I think Grandma may be hiding some of my fav Bo-Bos…easpecially when I hear her say “enough with the squeaker Dante”…bark bark bark! Have loads of fun with your blue ball…whole…half…whatever, just enjoy!

So glad you found your toy without having to issue an APB (Alaskan Pup Bulletin). Prince is always so happy when he finds a toy that has been missing for awhile!

New toy! Yay! OLD new toys are definitely as much fun as NEW new toys! Especially if you have a short memory (or a tiny brain), like me!

My Mom does the old trick of hiding some of my toys in the closet for a few months then bringing them out again – just like getting a NEW toy! I’m glad you found your blue ball though……since it was your favorite!

I hate when I lose a good toy, Misaki but you are so right…when you find it, it is fantastic! So glad you found your ball and are having a blast playing with it again. Paws crossed it sticks around this time.

I’ve lost lots of toys, but I suspect it was my family’s fault because I’d torn them up and was eating the stuffing. I did once actually lose a toy but found it underneath a chair when my family moved the chair to bring the Christmas tree in. Oh boy, was I ever happy!

I sometimes discover old toys for new and that’s the same fun :o) I lost Rizzo last summer and I found him in the base of my bed as we worked in the bedroom… I wonder what he did there…

Thank goodness you found it. Recently it came to my attention what I thought was lost was actually taken by my mom. She said I had too many toys so she puts some away.
Trust me she will pay for this.

With three of us, there’s never a lost toy. One might get into an inaccessible spot, but it’s not actually “lost”

We do that all the time! Sometimes when our toys are found again, they’re even more fun to play with. Maybe they have a weird smell to them or they taste funny. Sometimes they’ve been buried in the back yard for months! Sometimes they’ve been under the couch or the bed or they went into an alternate universe. Happy playtime, Misaki! Misaki, my three monster constantly lose their toys in the bottom of the basket where they are too lazy to look for them. Every now and then I go and mix it up a bit and they have a big reunion with all the toys they had forgotten about!

That is totally how it is for the little human baby too. Shiner’s toy was stuck behind the couch last week, but she was sure to let me know it was back there so I could get it out.

We tend to “lose” balls under the couch. As in, “Oh dear, Mom! I accidently rolled the ball under the couch and need help getting it out. Gee, thanks. Now that it’s out, can you throw it please?” Followed two minutes later by, ” Oh dear! It happened again. What a coincidence.”
Tucker can play this game for hours.

Misaki – you look very happy to have found your ball. We wish we could find a lost toy, but Mom says our toys only last about 5 minutes and then they are tossed, and lost forever:( Give us a ball and we rip it up so fast, and sometimes we even try to eat the pieces – that really gets Mom moving:)

Yow yah Misaki me losted 8 ping pong ballz over a few yeerz in here…Mum had a love seet what waz a bed too so she cuud not get under it nor under da bed!!
When we had to bee sprayed fer ICKY bedbuggiez in Sept 2009 da stinkee men found me 8 ballz n dey put dem on Mum’z bed wif a funny note sayin: “We fink ya lost yer ballz!!” 😉

We had to get rid of love seet cause it had da pesky icky bugz in it so Mum bott a footon n now she can see dem under dere…me leerned to smack dem under fridge!!
