Rainy trip to Greenwich
Posted: December 30, 2013 Filed under: walks, weather | Tags: bashful, DLR, Greenwich, oyster card, rain 47 CommentsToday mummy and Bashful set out to visit Greenwich. Only the weather was awful. Typically now they are home it’s brightened up, but when they left it was miserable.
Anyway, mummy hooked Bashful up with an Oyster card and they jumped on the DLR to Greenwich. As soon as they got out of the station, mummy was soaked to the bone, which meant she wasn’t keen to hang around. On a nice day Greenwich is a lovely place to explore so it was a bit of a shame. Had daddy been there they would have likely spent their time in the Union pub, where according to him they make a mean eggs benedict. But instead, mummy and Bashful checked out the Cutty Sark, took a soggy stroll round Greenwich Park and then walked up the very steep hill to the Observatory. The view from the top is pretty amazing but as it was so grey you can’t see much from the photos. You can just make out The O2 (formerly the Millennium Dome) if you look closely.
I do feel bad for Bashful, but I guess it wouldn’t be a proper trip to the UK without some good old-fashioned terrible British weather lol.
Mummy is back to work on Thursday and is planning to take Bashful into London to play tourist before he heads home next week. Is there anywhere in particular you would like Bashful to visit? We’ll try to fit your suggestions into his trips.
I am looking forward to Bashful’s trip to London with your Mum Misaki!
Thanks guys, we’re hoping to get round all the major sights
oh WOW! You poor dear – you braved the rain for my little pebble. YOU are so sweet and kind in showing him a wonderful time. Those pictures are amazing. AND a trip to London. OH WOW! He is going to absolutely LOVE that. And my daddy – he is so jealous. He’s with your dad Misaki – he *loves* eggs benedict. I am so blown away with his sight seeing. The little character thinks he’s a secret agent. With all of that rain, I know he’s fitting right in! XOXO – Bacon
I sure hope so Bacon, it’s such a shame the weather has been awful. But whatever the weather he’ll get to see some more of london this weekend:-)
He just loves being with y’all regardless of the weather my friend. Thank you for hosting him. XOXO – Bacon

Well even if the rain tried to ruin the day for Bashful and your Mum I think it turned out quite nice…….and a trip to The Smoke with her – wow what a treat THAT will be! I think Bashful would definitely like to see the crown jewels….of course if you could get in to see THE QUEEN and have Bashful sit on her lap, well, now THAT would be the ultimate!
Huggies, Sammy
I’ll definitely take him to Buck house, can’t guarantee queenie will be there though
Don’t you just hate it when Bashful can go places that you’re not allowed to visit?

He might see ghosts there as well. He likes the paranormal. Nothing scares him – he holds his ground solid. XOXO – Bacon
Bashful didn’t seem to mind the weather too much. Glad it cleared up. How about a visit to sunny California? BOL.
That sounds like a great idea for Bashful’s next trip. You should suggest it to Bacon:-)
London is our man’s favourite city. He has visited 4 times. Lady went with him 2 times. She thinks Bashful should visit Buckingham Palace! Lee and Phod
I’ll definitely add it to the list!
A museum!
Hmmm maybe we’ll swing by the British Museum!
Maybe Bashful will find a relative.. you never know. 🙂
My niece has a guy named Flat Stanley that sounds a lot like Bashful. Those types really get around!
They sure do!
Maybe Bashful can visit that new baby prince…..

HUMMMMMM CUTTY SARK??? We think that might be like a Ship in a Bottle or SOMETHING in a bottle… We can SEE one of those through the cabinet door..
Butt we digress… THIS was a super time that Bashful did have.
It’s a shame mummy didn’t get better pictures as there is a HUGE ship in a bottle at the maritime museum
I think it would be fabulous to see the Tower of London if you are near it! 🙂
I’ll add it to the list!
Looks like you guys saw some interesting things!
We sure did:-)
Looks like a great trip! We think Bashful should have his photo taken on the tube!
Great idea!
Oh, how fun!! Way back before I was born, Momma lived near Greenwich (in Blackheath) and took my Aunt Kaitlin the labrador to play in Greenwich Park all the time. She would stand at the top of that big steep hill by the Observatory and throw Aunt Kaitlin’s ball down it. It was the only way to tire her out! A few years ago, Grandma and Grandpa went back to London for a visit, and Grandma scattered Aunt Kaitlin’s ashes at the top of that hill because it was her favorite place in the world.
Oh what a coincidence! And how sweet about Aunt Kaitlin’s ashes xx
Pawsum Misaki..bashfull will LUB da Eye fer shure! 😉
