National Pet Memorial day

So I thought I’d share some memories of mummy and daddy’s previous pets who are now running free over the bridge.
First of all this is a very young daddy with his Westie Kirsty.
Daddy’s most vivid memory of her was when he was hanging out with a friend in his room and Kirsty decided to poop on his bed lolololol! She had arthritis but lived to a good age though.
Meanwhile Mummy’s family had an assortment of goldfish, hamsters, guinea pigs and even a tortoise over the years. But Mummy’s one true love (before me ofc) was her cat Figaro.
He and his brother Humphrey (my uncle Andrew’s cat) were mischief makers, pigeon chasers, frog catchers and just loved to play! There was never a dull moment when they were around. Sadly he didn’t live into old age but the time they had together was full of fun.
And lastly, this is Lilo the hamster.
She was mummy and daddy’s first joint pet. She was given to them by a friend who for various reasons couldn’t keep her. She was the perfect pet for them at the time as they lived in a small second-floor flat so didn’t really have room for a larger animal. They used to love watching her running round in her ball and crashing into the walls BOL
Thinking of them all today, they are fondly remembered and never forgotten xx
It’s so hard losing pets but lovely to sit back and remember the wonderful times you had.
It’s lovely to think about pets gone by!! Such sweet memories 🙂
What a lovely little set of memories. Whee like thinking back fondly of pets passed. Whee know that Nutty is running free over the rainbow bridge with all of them.
Whee were excited to see your Mummy had guinea pigs though! What were they called?
Nacho, Buddy & Basil
xxxx
We were excited about the guinea pigs too! Great pigs think alike!
sadly I don’t have any photos. The guineas were rescued from our neighbour who got bored of them:-(
Great memories. We loved our first black lab so much as kids:)
We always have to cry when we remember our furry family, but it’s good to have memories. Pawkisses 🙂
I’vre read it at Oz’s blog too, but my staff said they can’t write about this topic. I remember about your tortoise, it was the one with the phone number on the back, right? Kirsty was a smart girl, she knows the best place for mine :o) Have a wonderful sunday, Misaki. I know they all are still here in our heart and in our memories.
Gone but never forgotten Misaki. Precious memories. Have a serene Sunday.
Best wishes Molly
lovely memories Misaki,xx Rachel
We have westies in oûr family 🙂 xxx
“The ones who came before” are impawtant to our families and we all know that they are ALWAYS in our humans’ memories and hearts – just as one day we will be. Meanwhile, it’s a day to remember and my parents are remembering too – my Dad had a beagle he loved very much and my Mom has had MANY meowies before me.

Aww they all look pawesome and it’s so nice to remember them and the happy times. =^.^=
We heard about this from Oz too, but there are just too many pets in Mom’s past so we just have a general day of thought for all animals that have left us. We will all meet again.
Misaki,
The ones who came before us laid the sturdy foundation to our peeps hearts!
Hugs

Mom’s old Smoki lives in my belly. Mom says she lives in there to help me be a good girl. But sometimes she takes the day off. We love you Smoki! xoxo

Those that came before us… leave their peeps with SO many SUPER memories!!!
Lovely memories,
Sheba, Cody and Coco.
Aw… what a sweet post, it’s never easy to lose a furry friend, we never forget them.
I remember my buddy, Kenzie the Westie, who’s been gone for almost a year.
Can’t believe its been a year already xx
That’s a funny story with the Westie lol… Shiner has peed on a blanket that I was sitting under when she was very young. Just walked up and peed on it! I think she may have also pooped on my dad’s bed before =X All of those pets are super cute and seems like they left a lot of great memories.
Sweet babies playing over the rainbow with so many of our family moved on. Never easy.
Such nice memories! Enjoy thinking with love about those who went before. Lee and Phod
Sending out our love to all those who have lost a pet xx
My first pet was a dachshund, he taught me how to bark. He was my best friend. He was sitting under the table during dinner and secretly eating all that terrible beef from my soup. We had a lot of adventures in the forests. I still remember how his ears were flapping up and down when he was running.
I love those pics and stories.
Hey,Misaki, it was nice seeing the pets from your humans’ past. Mom was laughing at the hamster in his ball. She had a hamster when Dakota and Phantom were young pups – they used to give that poor hammie a ride around the room in his ball. They sure did get him going pretty fast:)
Woos – Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning
