The cows are watching!

One of my favourite places to go is a field that leads off from the river. It’s marked as a public footpath but it doesn’t really go anywhere so no one else seems to bother using it. Plus it’s surrounded by a fence so I can have a great run around.

The only thing is in the adjacent field there are often cows. Usually they don’t bother us, but today they started acting really weird. And I mean seriously freaky! They all started walking towards the fence and were staring intently at us.

Daddy quickly put me back on lead in case I decided to investigate. And then he ‘mooed’ at them. Mummy told him to be quiet incase they stampeded. Yes, she did really say that! Daddy was laughing at her while I was doing my meerkat impression to see what they were doing.

Mummy took a couple of pics on her phone, but they aren’t that clear. I don’t think they show how completely freaky these cows where. It was like one of those Cravendale adverts

can you see the cows under the trees?

we are watching you

I’m now wondering if it’s these cows that stop people coming to the field…

  1. They can be quite intimidating when they come up to you like that! Luckily you had a fence between you 😉 They’re just really nosey though!

Event hough I grew up in the country, I’ve always been nervous around cows. You can never quite be sure what they’re thinking. I think your Mummy and Daddy were very responsible for putting you back on your lead. Not as much fun, I know!

  4. It was horrible because once we were walking in a field full of young cows and they started running over to us really fast so we jumped over a fence but the cows followed us over and one even jumped over BARBED WIRE so we ran to a metal gate and jumped over that into someone’s garden. Luckily they didn’t follow us so we had to climb over a different wall to get onto a different path, but when we looked back all the other cows were staring at us from over the gate all crammed against it and it was really creepy! Cows are funny things they were probably just curious like puppies coming to say hello but its dangerous as they are MASSIVE!
That does look like a nice field to run in though.

Cows are pretty funny creatures, my peep’s family had a farm, she says they’re inquisitive moos sometimes!

  6. You dad speaks “cowlish”? Cool! I like cows – they make my cottage-cheese and the “fango-packs” for my spa-day :o)

  7. Shiva & Jaya says:

We see them cows! Mom says them is always peeking. She meets them cows when doing outdoor work-out and them always watching. Stalkers.

  8. Glad nothing happened but be careful Misaki they may be protective as they might have babies. Hope you get some of the big easy in today. Have a serene Sunday.
    Best wishes Molly

  9. Ooooooo those are big creepy moo cows. Our hoomans are more nervous of sheep though. Once they were walking along and they had to go through a field of sheep and those stalker sheep followed them! Mummy said mint sauce to them but it had no effect! Steer clear of farm animals, they be scary things!

  10. Misaki those cows look like they’re plotting something…..a “gang” of cows can’t be good – stay away!!!! Otherwise it looks like a great spot to run and have some fun. Happy Sunday cow-watching!

MOOOOO! That’s an interesting place for cows to congregate. I’d be worried they were plotting something too!

My mom and sister were chased by a herd of cows that were loose in Germany, so Katie is scared of cows to this day. Be careful, they are big!

  14. We don’t know cows, but since they look like horses assume they may try and kick you. Be safe with them. Lee and Phod

I (Frankie Furter) once ROLLED in Cow Poops… I thought it was GRRRREAt… Mom…Not so much.

    hmmm scary!xx Speedy

  17. Cows are lovely animals, very curious tho, like old ladies in a village.
The feeling of walking into a field full of cows and visiting a small village is the same.

  18. Cows are very curious. I think they lead such boring lives that seeing something new just gets them all very interested. They love a good head rub but I make sure to stay away from the bulls. And it can be very tricky with Mamas with new babies. I think your Mom and Dad know just what to do.. 🙂

  19. We decided a long time ago that cows are really weird. I guess that holds true everywhere.

Be sure to watch your step….you do not want to step in a cow pie!

  21. Kyla says:

They could be the cows who represent a chicken sandwich chain here. “Eat mor chikn”. They parachute into sporting events (in the ads) to get that message across plus other stunts to get you off of hamburgers and onto chicken.

  22. So glad the cows didn’t stampede you! Maybe they thought you where some sort of herding dog. If only they knew! 🙂 Woooooowooooooo, Ku

  23. did they mooed at you?

  24. CATachresis says:

There’s nothing more scary than a gang of cows!!

  25. maybe they were hungry? 🙂

  26. barkandchatter says:

Those are some creepy looking cows! I bet you’re right – that’s probably exactly why there are no people around, Misaki!

  27. Misaki,we know you turned off comments but we just had to thank you so very much for your beautiful remembrance for our brother Thunder. You made our day so much nicer. Thank you.

  28. Those cows do look a little intimidating–ok, maybe more than just a little intimidating. I wonder what your dad said to them in moo, maybe something like “Hey, you silly cows. You are udderly harmless. Ha ha!” That probably got them a little upset. 😉 Glad you got out of there safely.

  29. Nessy San says:

Misaki , I amsorry to your mom, but I also laugh at what she said ! But what an experience you have there! There’s something new everyday 😀

  30. sue ellen says:

Cows STARED at moi?? Probably because they were jealous of your beautiful fluffy tail…. look what kind they got stuck with!!!

  31. I guess it’s a new breed of guard cow!

  32. Cows are supposedly ‘placid’ but I think they are secretly out to get us…so be careful Misaki!

  33. Dalton says:

So pleased you had that fence to keep you safe! Cows are very scary, you have to be very careful around them!

  34. Misaki, I think the cows were probably hungry. Maybe you came about the time they are usually fed & they thought you came bearing goodies.
