Lee Valley walk
Posted: June 23, 2013 Filed under: sunday walks, train | Tags: alaskan malamute, Cheshunt, dog agility course, lake, Lee Valley Park 81 CommentsEveryday on her way to and from work, mummy passes part of Lee Valley, which is a huge 10,000 acre park spanning London, Essex and Hertfordshire. So today we decided to take a walk there. As daddy already had plans, the two of us were going to take the 10 min train journey to Cheshunt and find our way from there. But as soon as mummy told nanny and grampy the plan, they decided to join us (I suspect they thought mummy would get us lost BOL).
They came with us on the train which was packed. But the great thing is the entrance to the park is just across from the station. This section of Lee Valley Park is really lovely, with a huge lake in the centre and although the weather was hit and miss it was a great place to walk. And there’s also an outdoor dog agility course. Its only a basic course but it was still fun to try out.
Mummy didn’t bring the proper camera so only took a few pics on her phone, but hopefully they give a bit of an idea of where we were. I’m hoping to go back again and take daddy next time:-)
Hope you had a good Sunday too.
Looks like so much fun Misaki, and pups get to ride the train where you live! Wooooowoooooo! Ku p.s.Tell your nanny and grampy that they do not have to worry about your mummy getting lost because we Mals know how to find our way even if we are thousands of miles from home!
Its crazy that you can’t go on trains!
And that Ku, is an excellent point. I have an excellent sense of direction (especially when it comes to food BOL)
That’s a great place and the sign is proved, becuase it’s “signed” BOL! As I saw you as the leader it reminds me of this hoary song: the leader of the pack from Shangri La. I understand the stick was interesting, but it was hard to get it :o)
My nanny kept trying to lead, but I had to show her that I walk in front BOL
I’ve never heard that song before, but off to check it out:-)
My mom heard that song as she was a puppy and cried (because her older cousins did it too). She was even a silly puppy :o)
That looks like fun. We would like to visit that park too. 🙂
You would love it:-)
Oooh! Lovely. I went to Lee Valley some years ago. beautiful place 🙂
It sure is:-) Hope you’re having a great weekend Austin!
My Mom said she wants to move to the UK because you have so many cool places there! I don’t think that I would even be allowed on a train here! Barks and licks and love, Dakota
Yes you definitely should move here!! imagine all the fun we could have together:-)
Looks like you aced the course Misaki. Poppy got to try a simple one out too at a Dog’s Night Out event in a nearby park – on leash of course. Like you she couldn’t wait to sample the water in the park…a very muddy creek! Very beautiful where you went.
Hugs,
Nanina and Poppy
Hehehe I got lots of treats for going the agility course, but it was good fun:-)
Glad you enjoyed your muddy dip – there’s nothing better:-)
Lee Valley Park looks like fun Misaki. Great idea for an adventure as it not too hot yet. Have a serene Sunday.
Best wishes Molly
it sure is Molly! And yes it was cooler today so a great day for some exploring:-)
Wow, Lee Valley looks like a great place to walk. We want to take a train there too but Lady said no trains go from here to there. Hope you had a nice day resting. Lee and Phod
Hope you had a great day too!
Do all parks have dog agility courses? I’m in the u.s. and its rare to see here.
No, its not something to see alot but it really is a great idea:-)
Wowee Misaki! That looks like great fun and you loo beautiful as always! =^.^=
Aww you’re sweet Bailey. Hope you’ve had a great weekend!
You always go on such fun adventures Misaki! xx Speedy
I do try to get mummy and daddy out and about, its hard sometimes though!
Misaki what a beautiful park. OMDs mom says she’d like to walk all over the 10, 000 acres.
MOL She is crazy about walking.
Hugs Madi your bFFF
It is a really beautiful place to walk, i haven’t explored it all, but I hope to someday!
That looks awesome, Misaki! Looks like you had a bit of a dip too! 🙂
Bol it was a bit deeper than I was expecting!
I’m going to get a coat that says “Service Dog” and a white cane and glasses for Them so I can ride the train here.
Its so weird that you’re not allowed on trains! I think you should explain to the inspector that its your right, being Scottish and all:-)
Oh what a GRAND park that is! And you had the bonus of not only being there with your Mum but your Granny and Grampy too!!!! YAY!!!!! Glad you had a happy day Misaki.
Kitty Hugs, Sam
It sure was fun, though tiring as it was quite busy in places and we had to contend with lots of cyclists on our path, but I was really good and didn’t chase any of them:-)
What a fun adventure, it looks like a great park!
It really is! I hope we get to go back soon
looks like a fabulous park, I love that sign
urban hounds
Isn’t it great!
That looks like such a fun place!
it really was guys!
Howdie Ho Misaki! WOW! What a fabulous day you had and you got to do all of those fun things too! How was the train ride? We only get to go bye bye in a car and have never riden on a train! How cool is that! Thanks for sharing your fun day with us! Love, Nikita & Bella
The train was really busy, and I’m always a bit fidgety at first but once its moving I flop down and I’m fine 🙂
Has a ‘to be repeated’ look about it!
definitely need to go there again, sooo much to see an different paths to explore 🙂
Wow, what an amazing place to have around for fun, it sounds like you could spend lots of time there and never get bored!
That’s so true! definitely need to go back soon
Well, Lee Valley looks like one great place! Thanks for the tour! You seem to have a lot of great parks where you live. AND you get to ride on trains! Dogs here don’t get that privilege unless they are service dogs.
Lovely park Misaki…You did great on the obstacles and I’m so impressed that you get to ride on trains…Bet that is fun too
That’s the biggest park I ever heard of, M.! Looks like you had tons of fun PLUS a train ride. Awesome.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Wow, that is a beautiful place. I think the pictures turned out great too!
That water sure looks inviting…splash!
Wows, you are such a lucky gurl Misaki! You have some pawsome parks in your hood!!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
That sure looks like a fun walk!
That looks like a great park, Misaki. Love the agility course – so much fun. Mom’s favorite pic is the one of you looking down the long path. Bet it would be fun to have a race with you down that trail.
Woos – Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
I would love to race with you guys!!
Here in Australia only seeing eye dogs for the blind are allowed on trains and “assistance” dogs might be able to too. Even goldens are not allowed 😦 That park looks awesome and the agility equipment is such a good idea. We do have a few doggy beaches where we are allowed to go off leash, also some parks. Some cafes will allow us to lie beside the table and some will even supply a bowl of water but that is the exception. Not quite so doggy friendly here as in the UK. Our mum came from Loughton back in 1966 and likes to see what Essex is like nowadays. Lucky Misaki. Honey and Nutty.
OMD, Loughton isn’t that far from here I live! I’ll try to do a walk round there one day so you can see it as it is now 🙂
That would be pawsome. There used to be playing fields at the end of our road. Probably doggie friendly, you have to check signs everywhere here to see whether dogs are allowed and rarely off lead. Joy
Looks like so much fun! Did you swim or chase ducks???
I tried to chase ducks, but the water was a bit deeper than I expected BOL
Misaki what a adventure you had! Looks like such a perfect day! Kirby would be jealous!
it sure was fun!
What a fantastic place, Misaki. Did you got a ducking in the water…MOL… sorry, I’m not laughing..sure not… The fingers on the camera look very familiar..Granny always says that it’s the moon or the sun, well, I not spoil on her illusions… 😀
Oh bless! my nanny was so embarrased about her thumb print but i think it adds a uniqueness to the photos
Wow what a lovely adventure 🙂 I bet you slept well afterwards x
I sure did 🙂
Looks like so much fun!
It really was Dalton!
That looks a super fun walk and an agility course..Wow xx00xxx
Mollie and Alfie
I know it was really cool, you would’ve loved it 🙂
Wow Misaki a train ride too! yes as two engaging goldens says only seeing eye guide dogs or assistance doggies are allowed on public transport here. The park looks great and wow what a great time to spend with your un furry family 🙂 glad you got to train for the Olympics on the agility course..we look forward to seeing you get gold!! 😉
Its such a shame you aren’t allowed on public transport, its kinda crazy really!
Hahaha I think gold might be aiming a bit high, but will see what I can do 🙂
You go Misaki! then we can have a dogympic parade 😉
Wow, this place looks amazing!
It really was lovely, mummy’s photos don’t really do it justice
Wow, sounds like an exciting time! How fun that they even have a beginners agility course!
