Down the pub

Most pubs have outside seating which means doggies like me can sit and enjoy a pint;-) But very few pubs allow dogs inside. Except for the one down the road from us which is completely doggie friendly! So the other day we decided to see how I’d react if mummy, daddy, nanny and grampy had a meal while I was with them.

Nanny can I have some of your dinner please?

If you’re struggling I could help you with that

Maybe I could get a job here cleaning plates…

I think it will take a couple more trips to get comfortable and ‘settle down’ as daddy kept asking me to do, but it was fun to be able to join them for a meal rather than being left home as usual.

How great! Dogs are never allowed in in the US as its against health codes, a few places try to make exceptions but usually dogs must dine outside

I miss going out to eat with mom. I was 9 weeks old the first time I went. Mom never allowed us to put our heads up at the table but it was still great to be under the table…you never know when something might fall.

  8. scienerf says:

Oooh that’s fabulous Misaki! My brother got me a book that has a whole load of dog friendly pubs, restaurants, hotels, shops in it that Toby and I will be making good use of at some point and seeing whether he can ‘settle’ in the excitement of a pub too πŸ™‚ xox

  9. No way! That is so coool Misaki! I wish our bars/pubs/restaurants, at least one, was like that!!!

  10. Cool! A pup in a pub :o) If they need more staff for cleaning the plates, please call me :o) I thought in UK pups are allowed in pubs…or is it different?

  11. p.m.terrell says:

Oh, how sweet! But you looked awfully hungry staring at all those plates. I bet you would make an awesome dishwasher there! Lots of love from Mattie the foxhound, Simone the collie, and Eddie & Lucy the JRs. Oh and their peep.

  12. Where we go on holiday the pubs are dog friendly, It’s great going to eat out with the humans.

    Sheba.

  13. That looks like fun! But where was your bowl?

  14. How fun, and you will get used to it and go all the time. Maybe you can get your own regular stool too.

Prewashing plates is a good job. Taking out the garbage is even better-it’s an all-you-can-steal job, sort of like politician.

  18. Will and Eko says:

Outdoor seating is the best – I’m sure you will get used to it, though all those great smells make it difficult to not investigate!

  19. Clowie says:

It’s great fun going out to eat – you never know what will fall to the floor!

  20. FleaByte says:

That is a very forward thinking establishment. And you showed your gratitude by offering to wash the plates! Good for you Misaki!! πŸ™‚

  23. That is just so cool that you got to go inside the pub, Misaki. We just know that you will learn more and more with each visit there. Hope you got some good tasty tidbits.

  24. You did great for your first time, M.! Mom is dying to take me out to breakfast at a cafe that has outdoor seating. She promised that as soon as it gets warm enough she’ll try it. She will only get coffee and a bagel, in case the worst happens and we have leave. She’s afraid I might try to steal food from other tables, French kiss the waiter, or be otherwise naughty.

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake

  25. kolytyi says:

I think this place deserves only four stars. A five-stars-doggy-friendly pub would offer dog-menus, too.

  26. That’s so nice that you can go in a pub! Here in the US, you have to sneak a little pocket pooch in – or find outdoor seating. Lucky you!

    Piggy kisses,
Katie and Coccolino the mini pig

  27. What a great pub to let pups inside! We’d have a hard time resisting your puppy dog eyes. Hope that plate cleaning job worked out for you. Woof!

  28. How cool you can actually go inside! And what a lady you were Misaki! I hope you got treats when you went home!

  29. catchatcaren says:

  30. I think I would be too excited too Misaki…sit calmly in a restaurant/pub while the humans ate delicious food?!? Oh, that would be too much to handle!

  35. Sage says:

You’ll get the hang of it, Misaki. You just need to go back. Lots of times (think of all the plate washing you could do)!

  36. Very cool Misaki! I thinks in time you should be able to levitate those foodables off the plates, and into your waitin’ mouth!!
    Kisses,

  40. Did you get to lick the plates?

  41. tylersat99 says:

We don’t have anywhere around here that with let you bring your dog in ( except assistance dogs). It is much harder for the people to eat with us sitting up staring at the plates. Is is also very hard to just lay down and not ask for anything. Hope you get to go again πŸ™‚

  42. What they did not buy you a PINT tut tut meowwww

  43. Bassa's Blog says:

Wow! I like that pub – very enlightened.

  44. dogsrulecatsdrool says:

Los Angeles restaurants recently started allowing dogs to sit outside with their owners during a meal, but only specially trained dogs get to inside. Maybe, I should become a certified therapy, seeing-eye dog or search and rescue.

  45. Gizmo says:

This is pawsome Misaki…I love going to restaurants with hoomins…Maybe we go out to dinner on our next date?
