cement danger!Posted: February 8, 2013 Filed under: walks | Tags: alaskan malamute, car park, cement truck, noise, puppt, scared 64 Comments
Humans are so silly. I often wonder what mine would do without me around to keep them safe. Yesterday was a prime example.
In our park there is a main car park near the war memorial and a much smaller one near the entrance we usually use (although we walk to the park). Our local council have decided to increase the size of the smaller one, so there have been lots of workmen about making a cacophony(VBP) of noise as they dig up the area.
Anyway, yesterday as we were heading home from our walk we passed the workmen and there was this big metal monster making the most horrendous noise. It looked kinda like this:
Mummy said it was a cement truck. I point-blank refused to go anywhere near it, I mean can you imagine? We’d get sucked in and covered in cement! I don’t even want to think about how many baths it would take to get the cement out of my fur *shudder*
I dragged mummy as far away from it as I could and made it clear it was a no-go zone. She didn’t seem too impressed by my evasive maneuvers(VBP) but it was an emergency! Why do humans never appreciate our efforts to keep them safe? I doubt she would like to be covered in cement either.
When we finally got home she told daddy I was a scaredy-dog. Scaredy-dog?? Mummy, I just saved you from being immersed(VBP) in cement! I think I deserve some appreciation, don’t you?? Humans!! *holds paws up in despair*
I share your frustration – they have no instinct for danger and won’t run when we tell them to and what’s more, they expect us to stay and get slaughtered with them!!!! Useless.
I know Zena, it drives me crazy!!
You are the smart one in the family, M. My mom won’t heed my warnings either – when I see scary, dangerous balloons or soccer players that I’m pretty sure are trying to kill me. I turn to stone, but Mom picks me up and carries me near them. Jeez!! Please don’t turn into a cement statue of a dog.
Love and licks,
Aren’t they silly not to listen to us? Those foil balloons are particularly suspicious, I’m not sure about those at all!
The peep are so ungrateful. I do that with balloons, large rubbish bags, bins etc etc and mine too show no appreciation. Silly peeps!Have a fabulous Friday.
Best wishes Molly
They sure are hardwork sometimes!
Holding paws up in despair in solidarity with you Misaki. You were very good to save your Mom from being cemented to the ground.
Oh Litchi, will they ever learn!
We don’t like big trucks either. We watched transformers and now think they will change to robots. Lee and Phod
OMD! You could be right. I’ll have to keep an extra eye out now!
Ha!!!!!!!!!!!! I did the same thing years ago but it was with a GARBAGE TRUCK! Mom and Dad think that that is part of the reason I now HATE taking walks. The garbage truck scared me sooooooo much! I totally understand! Barks and licks and love, Dakota
I used to be suspicious of the rubbish collection too… but I’ve had to walk past it so many times now that I don’t mind it anymore. She did that with traffic along the main road and that worked pretty well.
I’m worried that mummy’s going to make me go near cement mixers and diggers though without realising the danger she’s putting us in!!
Whew! I was worried when I saw this post that you had gotten into some cement…glad you were just steering away from it!
It was a close call Ems!!
I hate anything big, that makes a noise..I’m like Molly, I hate Balloons too 🙂 xx00xx
Mollie and Alfie
I’m suspicious of foil balloons, I’m not sure about them at all. They could be squirrel air-ships!!!!
I hate loud noises too Misaki…..and you were right to try and keep your Mum away from that big noisy truck – good for you…….if she didn’t “get” that well, that’s not YOUR fault now is it?!?! You get an A+ for guarding her as far as I’m concerned! 😀 😀 😀
Kitty Hugs, Sammy
Thanks Sammy, I’m glad SOMEONE appreciates my efforts:-)
Hoomins are so foolish…There you are doing your bestest to keep them safe and they want to go assail (VBP) the danger willynilly…and then have the nerve to call you craven (VBP)…Fur shame on them!
They really are Gizmo! I was so hurt when they completely ignored my intentions *sigh*
This is PM Shiva. How bootiful truck! He kinda looks like my beloved Giant VC, but no has seen that phoqqo in ages. He said he stay wiz me for good and now he no longer comings?
Oh noes, that’s so sad:-( You can have our cement truck if you want him!
Humans have absolutely no sense! HUH! Well done Misaki on taking a stand. Dread to think what might have happened! 🙂
They really don’t Austin, it’s so frustrating!
Well done Misaki, those cement trucks are known for “cement paws”. You rescued your mummy.
Thanks Stanzie, I knew I had to do something to save her!
Those humans, they never understand our good intentions!
They don’t, it’s very sad.
You aren’t a scaredy-dog – you are smart. This cement monster was dangerous – I’m sure! He could spit the whole cement on you and we had a “Misakiment” now. I think you are a livesafer and you deserved a medal ;o)
Wow a medal? Really? You are so sweet xxxx
Good thing you were diligent in keeping mum safe. Very smart of you, that would have been scary to any dog.
Thanks Roxy! I think the adrenalin just kicked in and i acted on instinct (kinda like the hulk BOL)
Yous is right! Me wonders how they survives. Sheesh!
Nellie, what would they do without us!
So you didn’t even get any treats or anything for saving your human from the big machine? Outrageeous!! I’d contact your union buddy! 🙂
Have a fun weekend,
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
None at all Snoops! I do think something needs to be done. Maybe I’ll tell my grampy…
Good job. Any type of construction equipment is dangerous. You need to bark it away and if it won’t go, get yourself and loved ones away from it. When you see a sign that say’s “Road Work Ahead”, you know you’re coming to a convention of the things-and it’s time to act quickly.
Thanks Kyla, I knew you’d understand!
I am sending you a gold🌟for being such a brave girl
Madi your bfff
Awww Madi you are too sweet 🙂
Your mum doesn’t know how lucky she is, Misaki! They’ve no idea how many times we save them from danger.
Clowie, she has no clue at all!
Sheesh! Humans just DON’T understand sometimes!
They really don’t Casey!
Perhaps you reacted a little bit too late, and some cement got into your mom’s brain. As you know, humans’ brain is overcomplicated, full of unnecessary convolutions… Cement + convolutions = extremly slow thinking
Oh you could be right! That kinda makes sense…
Phew, good work Misaki! You really need to look out for those humans.
Katie and Coccolino the mini pig
Thanks Cocco! It sure is hardwork taking care of them though
Misaki, do your parents know where they would be without you? Probably buried in cement. Dear dog…you were only trying to keep them safe. Those big construction vehicles make lots of noise so you know to stay away from them. I say, good work, my friend. Have a great weekend!
Thanks Oz, mummy has no idea how close she came to being turned into a cement statue. It scares me how silly humans are!
Who knows what those humans would get into if you weren’t looking out for them!
I know, it’s worrying!
Humans don’t appreciate anything we do for them!
Sometimes I wonder why we bother…
Next thing you know, they won’t sniff the ground and roll in stinky stuff. Gee whiz. Humans never listen to the important things.
They’re completely clueless!
Don’t know Misaki…I thinks you needs to sit your Moms down and have a long talk with her abouts the dangers of heavy machinery! I don’t thinks she realizes how you saved her LIFE!!
I think I will Rubes, good plan!
well let me tell you Misaki, I was Under My Tent this morning when men were up on my roof…I could see them right through my upstairs window walking around…they were making so much noise chopping off limbs of the big tree by our front door. Now where will all my birdie friends sit…I ask you?
Oh noes Savvy, the poor birdies! How inconsiderate of the workmen:-(
Humans do very strange things sometimes 🙂
They sure do!
Wow! Sweet Misaki we are so happy you do a terrific job keeping your mum safe. That could have been terrible had you all got cement on you or buried in it. Good job!!! Hugs and nose kisses
Thanks Chancy, I’m glad you understand!
