cement danger!

Humans are so silly. I often wonder what mine would do without me around to keep them safe. Yesterday was a prime example.

In our park there is a main car park near the war memorial and a much smaller one near the entrance we usually use (although we walk to the park). Our local council have decided to increase the size of the smaller one, so there have been lots of workmen about making a cacophony(VBP) of noise as they dig up the area.

Anyway, yesterday as we were heading home from our walk we passed the workmen and there was this big metal monster making the most horrendous noise. It looked kinda like this:

this is something like it

this is something like it

Mummy said it was a cement truck. I point-blank refused to go anywhere near it, I mean can you imagine? We’d get sucked in and covered in cement! I don’t even want to think about how many baths it would take to get the cement out of my fur *shudder*

I dragged mummy as far away from it as I could and made it clear it was a no-go zone. She didn’t seem too impressed by my evasive maneuvers(VBP) but it was an emergency! Why do humans never appreciate our efforts to keep them safe? I doubt she would like to be covered in cement either.

When we finally got home she told daddy I was a scaredy-dog. Scaredy-dog?? Mummy, I just saved you from being immersed(VBP) in cement! I think I deserve some appreciation, don’t you?? Humans!! *holds paws up in despair*

I share your frustration – they have no instinct for danger and won’t run when we tell them to and what’s more, they expect us to stay and get slaughtered with them!!!! Useless.

  2. You are the smart one in the family, M. My mom won’t heed my warnings either – when I see scary, dangerous balloons or soccer players that I’m pretty sure are trying to kill me. I turn to stone, but Mom picks me up and carries me near them. Jeez!! Please don’t turn into a cement statue of a dog.

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake

  3. The peep are so ungrateful. I do that with balloons, large rubbish bags, bins etc etc and mine too show no appreciation. Silly peeps!Have a fabulous Friday.
    Best wishes Molly

  4. Holding paws up in despair in solidarity with you Misaki. You were very good to save your Mom from being cemented to the ground.

  5. We don’t like big trucks either. We watched transformers and now think they will change to robots. Lee and Phod

  6. catchatcaren says:

Ha!!!!!!!!!!!! I did the same thing years ago but it was with a GARBAGE TRUCK! Mom and Dad think that that is part of the reason I now HATE taking walks. The garbage truck scared me sooooooo much! I totally understand! Barks and licks and love, Dakota

    • I used to be suspicious of the rubbish collection too… but I’ve had to walk past it so many times now that I don’t mind it anymore. She did that with traffic along the main road and that worked pretty well.
I’m worried that mummy’s going to make me go near cement mixers and diggers though without realising the danger she’s putting us in!!

  7. emma says:

Whew! I was worried when I saw this post that you had gotten into some cement…glad you were just steering away from it!

  18. Hey Misaki,

So you didn’t even get any treats or anything for saving your human from the big machine? Outrageeous!! I’d contact your union buddy! πŸ™‚

    Have a fun weekend,

    Your pal Snoopy πŸ™‚

  19. Kyla says:

Good job. Any type of construction equipment is dangerous. You need to bark it away and if it won’t go, get yourself and loved ones away from it. When you see a sign that say’s “Road Work Ahead”, you know you’re coming to a convention of the things-and it’s time to act quickly.

  20. cecilia07 says:

  21. Clowie says:

Your mum doesn’t know how lucky she is, Misaki! They’ve no idea how many times we save them from danger.

  22. Sheesh! Humans just DON’T understand sometimes!

  23. kolytyi says:

Perhaps you reacted a little bit too late, and some cement got into your mom’s brain. As you know, humans’ brain is overcomplicated, full of unnecessary convolutions… Cement + convolutions = extremly slow thinking

  24. Phew, good work Misaki! You really need to look out for those humans.

    Oink oink,
Katie and Coccolino the mini pig

  25. Misaki, do your parents know where they would be without you? Probably buried in cement. Dear dog…you were only trying to keep them safe. Those big construction vehicles make lots of noise so you know to stay away from them. I say, good work, my friend. Have a great weekend!

  26. Will and Eko says:

Who knows what those humans would get into if you weren’t looking out for them!

  27. Humans don’t appreciate anything we do for them!

    Nora

  28. Next thing you know, they won’t sniff the ground and roll in stinky stuff. Gee whiz. Humans never listen to the important things.

  29. Don’t know Misaki…I thinks you needs to sit your Moms down and have a long talk with her abouts the dangers of heavy machinery! I don’t thinks she realizes how you saved her LIFE!!
    Kisses,
    Ruby

  30. well let me tell you Misaki, I was Under My Tent this morning when men were up on my roof…I could see them right through my upstairs window walking around…they were making so much noise chopping off limbs of the big tree by our front door. Now where will all my birdie friends sit…I ask you?

  31. Humans do very strange things sometimes πŸ™‚

  32. Chancy and Mumsy says:

Wow! Sweet Misaki we are so happy you do a terrific job keeping your mum safe. That could have been terrible had you all got cement on you or buried in it. Good job!!! Hugs and nose kisses
