Email confusion

Whenever mummy has an idea on a Friday, it is usually a bad one. In theory it’s sound, but somehow the execution becomes overcomplicated.

A prime example of this is that on Friday just gone, mummy decided that I should have my own email address. Partly because I don’t use WP or Google reader and instead rely on email subscriptions to keep up to date with everyone. But (despite applying various filters) they were getting muddled with her personal emails. So she created me a nice new one and updated my WordPress details.

In theory this is a GREAT idea as she’ll feel more comfortable giving out the new address for competitions etc without the faff of adding extra gaps in the address or playing ‘guess the symbol’! But she hadn’t considered the consequences of this: now she has to check two email accounts as she’s still subscribed to some blogs with her address and others with mine. Most of my comments are going straight into people’s spam folders and overall mummy is very confused and thinks she should’ve left well enough alone!

fed up of mummy moaning!

I hope she figures it all out soon so she can stop moaning and normal service (bellyrubs, ear scratching etc) can continue !! In the meantime, should you need it, my new email address is: misadventuresofmisaki@yahoo.co.uk 🙂

Have a good moan-free monday!

I hope she gets it sorted for you soon. I changed my email address a while ago and we still have some emails going to the old account as well as the new one!

  2. I quite understand why your Mom did this. I did the same thing when I was putting my email address in a post. Of course, it’s meant that I never go and check it and, on the odd occasion that I do, I’ve missed all sorts of things. You’re right – leave well enough alone. I also check posts via email and, as with you, no matter how many filters I apply, there are still a whole bunch mixed up with my work emails.
For your sake, Misaki, I hope your Mom gets everything figured out really quickly. Belly rubs and ear scratches are vitally important and bipeds can often underestimate the need 😀

Your mum sounds as good as my typist! BOL hope she sorts it for you soon so that everyone can contact you!!

  4. Two email addresses can be mind-boggling! Mom won’t even try it. She can barely keep up with one! She thinks I cause enough confusion around here. She doesn’t need any more! Confusion is a good thing, right?

  5. haha Misaki, friday-ideas have always after- and side effects. I share my email account with my mom, hope she didn’t read my private-only-for-me-mails too :o)

  6. Well, I have 4 emails, I keep them all in my iPhone so I make sure I read them, but it can be confusing.
    You’ll sort it out soon.

  7. Aargh, changing email addresses on WP accounts does cause the most frightful confusion. Good luck in sorting it all out 😉

I have my own. I need my own life and don’t need Them to pry into it. When I look at Their emails on Their addresses, it is just as I suspected-BORING.

My Mommy is a computer geek, BUT she still messed up on the email thing. She made me my own, but all the b logposts still goes to her secondary one.

Mommy got me my own email when I started all my blog and social media stuff. Now we have to check my email, her personal email and her 3 work emails – sometimes it is out of hand but it is nice to have my stuff separate!

  13. Woof! Woof! If you have your own domain name you can get your own email just like me. its hard to keep up with all the blogs, WP or Blogger. Soon the igoogle suppose to go away and we have to find a new way to read blogs. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar

    Hey Misaki,

I think it’s great you have your own email now – you deserve some independence!! 🙂 I love having my own email – super useful for sending messages to the Girlies!! Tee Hee

My Mum has her various emails coming into the same place otherwise I don’t think she could cope – she uses Apple iPhone (like Doggy) and computer which makes this easy

    Good lucky

    Your pal Snoopy 🙂

All this computer business gets very complicated! I thought these things were supposed to be smart, but any smart thing would know that Misaki mail is definitely Not spam!
