Weather warnings and haggis

Everyday this week the weather report has changed. Earlier in the week there were severe weather warnings reported for this weekend and we were told that there would be more snow today, but here in Essex it looks like the most we might get is rain:-( Mummy is happy about this as our snow has mostly turned to ice and she’s slipping all over the place on our walks and whingeing loads. Sigh. Humans – can’t live with them, can get bellyrubs and treats with out them! Personally I’m hoping for more snow – but I guess you’re not surprised by that!

She did however help me with my facebook page so I guess I forgive her for moaning so much BOL. BTW thanks everyone for ‘liking’ me:-)

Me and mummy having a little cuddle

Whether we get snow or not, today is also Burns night, and although we’re not Scottish, we celebrate anyway – you’re probably starting to realise that we jump on the bandwagon for most festivities! Apparently we get to eat haggis – or at least they do, but I’m hoping to try some:-)

Will you be having haggis for dinner?

No haggis here! I hope you get a little piece to try, Misaki.

  2. Helpppppp Misaki we forgot it was Burns night. Yikes no Haggis for us. Sacking the peeps. Have a good one. Hope you do get snow but unfortunately it is unlikely as we are getting a warm spell. Have a fabulous Friday.
    Best wishes Molly

  3. Hi Misaki! Mom told me all about the first time she had haggis….one of those tour thingies she and my Dad were on and they were at some kind of show and it was served……..all I can say is she was glad they ALSO served everybody “a wee dram” along with it to help wash it down! Tee Hee……..Happy Burns Night and I hope you get LOTSA snow!

    So much to comment on:
    1. Typist went for a run the other night and fell over! Idiot, who runs in the snow if they only have two legs?? It was a proper splat and everything! She blames the other half who took her on the run – I think he is long suffering (even if they have only lived together for 1 month and 25days!)
    2. We have snow! The weather people said 4pm, so I am arguing the point as as they are never wrong I should be allowed to go home in an hour!!
    3. Typist thought it was burns night tomorrow?! Pfft shows what I have to put up with!

    • Oh noes, poor Typist! Hope she’s OK.
You have snow?? SOOOO jealous! We have none, it’s just cold. The rain we were supposed to get has disapeared from the weather chart too… Hope you get to go home early and play in it.
My nanny says Burns night is the 25th, she maybe wrong but we’re celebrating today nevertheless :-)

      • Dalton says:

No it will be typist that is wrong! She saw a sign saying celebrate burns night on sat and so assumed that was the night – I tell you she is a nightmare! We ad snow up to typists knees this weekend!

what is haggis? I’m too lazy to click on the link…in a rush today :)

    • Lol it’s a traditional Scottish dish, it’s sheep’s heart, liver and lungs mixed with onions and spices etc. It used to be served inside the sheep’s stomach but nowadays it’s often inside sausage casing instead.
You usually drink lots of whisky when you eat it lol

  6. CATachresis says:

No haggis here in Wales! But I think it might be something you enjoy Misaki :)

  7. Gizmo says:

Aw Misaki I’m sorry about that serious lack of snow…BTW, did you steal Mollie’s snow…she says someone did and I thought first of you ;) Momz sez no haggis here in Florida that she’s ever seen so you have to try it and tell us what it’s like Happy Burns Night!

  8. …ahhhmmm no, not really that’s something with sheeps pluck, isn’t it? But I wear a sheep’s wool sweater… can we count this too? ;o)

  9. Hmm, I’m thinking we will skip the haggis (never heard of that before!) but you enjoy, sweet Misaki :-)

    Oink oink,
Katie and Coccolino the mini pig

  10. We’re going to a Burns nigh do tonight too Misaki. Kind of dreading the haggis bit but perhaps it’ll finally be the haggis to change my mind ;-) Hope you get to taste some – we’re pretty sure you’ll love it!

  11. Kyla says:

  13. Mom says she’d need to be pretty DRUNK to eat haggis. It sounds gnarly to her, but yummy to me. She’s thinking macaroni and cheese tonight. Mmmmm cheese. Mmmmm haggis. Mmmmm spiders. Mmmmm dirt clods. Mmmmm……

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake

  14. OH, I so hope you get more snow. None in the future for me. *sigh*

    NOra

  15. Oh no, there will not be haggis in our house, I just can’t do that… we’re having tacos tonight.

Sorry to hear about the no snow for you, we don’t have any either!

  16. Emmadog says:

Well, facebook is no replacement for snow but it is better than nothing!

  17. Awww so nice to have a mommy cuddle.

  18. I’m sure you’ll get to try some Haggis Misaki – you’ll convince them with your bribery eyes :)

  19. Will and Eko says:

Unfortunately for us humans, if one foot slips we only have one other foot to catch us. You guys have three back-up feet, so you have to cut us a break!

  20. ewww hagis yuk! happy Burns night!

  21. scienerf says:

Some hae meat and cannae eat

But we hae meat and we can eat
Sae let the Lord be thankit!

Not the ‘Ode to a Haggis’ but what we always used to say on Burns night.

I’ve got more snow…lots of snow, I hope you get a little bit at least (you can have some of ours lol)
    xox

  22. We think Haggis sounds great, but our Lady won’t have it. She said she tried it once in Scotland and did not like it. We think she just doesn’t like to deprive us of all things good. Enjoy!

  23. ilovecats says:

No thank you on the haggis. Enjoy it. Live your facebook page. I hope you get snow. :)

  24. Jacobi says:

    Dear Misaki,

Oh, I do hope you get SNOW – that’s the BEST! What is this thing you call “haggis”? Wait – my person says that has MEAT in it! Yes please, I would like some. Could you bring some over?

    Licks,
    Cobi

  25. Jessica says:

Well, Misaki, I have never had haggis…and I think I’m too much of a scaredy-cat to try it! So, if you DO get a chance to try it, I will trust your canine-foodie opinion! ;)

  26. Cat Forsley says:
