Best Laid Plans…

Mummy and daddy arranged for me to have it by keyhole surgery to reduce scarring, pain and recovery time. They dropped me in to the vets in the morning, confirmed all the details, kissed me goodbye and off they went to wait for the call to say they could pick me up.
But things didn’t go to plan. During my ‘routine’ op a needle broke inside of me. The surgeon said that has never happened before. And of course he was unable to retrieve the broken needle. So guess what? Yep, they had to open me up to get it! Meaning that mummy and daddy’s well thought-out plans to avoid a me having big scar failed miserably.
I’ve been scalped, I’m on antibiotics and I keep being told ‘no’ everytime I try to lick myself. I’m ridiculously close to having to wear a cone of shame:-( The only plus point is that I’m on a diet of chicken and rice -yum!
Hopefully i’ll be back to normal soon. In the meantime I’m going to go head back to sleep. Night all.

Pees….. I had to wear the cone of shame… but only for a couple of days. It’s not that bad (if you don’t go out in public).

Not only that, I bet that They had to pay for the unplanned surgery to remove the mistake. I’d sue to recover plus treble damages for your disfigurement and more for your pain and suffering. If you can give me more time, I can think of more.

They refunded some of the money. But mummy is going to contact the insurance company to see if we can claim
Oh you poor thing, I’m so sorry that happened to you. However, as soon as you heal up and your fur grows back in the scar won’t even be noticeable. In the mean time try not to lick and enjoy that chicken and rice!

I told Toby and he’s crossing his legs in sympawthy, he must remember his op all those years ago I guess! His mummy on the other hand feels your pain after having abdominal surgery and hopes you can avoid the cone of shame, I only just avoided it!

Darn it about that stupid needle, but thank goodness they rescued it and you are home safe and sound. I looked adorable in the cone, and I think I heard some country music on xM Satellite radio while I was wearing it….

aiiiee! Misaki, how pawful for woo and woo family! And they stole your furrs!!! shame of that vet! And I think that cone thingy is not really ‘shame’…but rather a device to help you hear everything everyone is saying all around you…Leader Otis, The Blog of Otis, just had a big surgery, and Brothers Oliver and Henry determined that the cone actually helps Leader Otis HEAR better while he isn’t feeling well. So, you might wanna give it a try…just a thought, Paw pats, Savannah

Aww poor Misaki. Sorry that had to happen. I haven’t seen too many mishaps during spay surgeries. Of course the biggest one I have ever witnessed had to be on my own dog! She was spayed by my boss, the old school way, not laparascopically. I went to eat lunch and the receptionist called me to tell me Shiner had a little bit of blood coming from her incision. It turned out that she had a ligament bleeding below her suture and had to be re-opened under anesthesia… In five years, it was the only time I had ever seen it happen. Feel better soon puppy!

That sounds terrible! Thank goodness that awful needle didn’t get stuck forever or do any very bad damage. I hope you will be feeling all better soon, but, until then, keep enjoying that chicken and rice!

Oh Misaki! So sorry you had that awful experience but also VERY glad you’re OK. I guess this means when you wear your bikini this summer your scar will show? You’re so bootiful I don’t think ANYONE will notice it!!!!! Take care and behave yourself until you’re ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL better!!

I so sorry the needle broke, but I am very happy you are Ok and they could get the needle out. I know, now it’s going to take longer to heal and Mom’s right you don’t want to lick and make it take longer. We hope you are feeling better soon. Resting is a good idea:(
