bike ride

This isn’t new or different as my town is very cycle friendly and we have an extensive cycle network.
Although I’m not big/old enough to do any serious exercise, in a few months when I am, daddy plans to take me out on his bike. But so far when I’ve seen people on bikes I’ve either chased them or ignored them. So he thought he’d introduce me to the idea of him riding along while I walked with mummy to get me used to it.
Much to their surprise I didn’t mind at all, didn’t try to jump up at him or anything. And we even went for a very (short) slow ride together. I had so much fun! But I got a little distracted when a squirrel shot across the path and I nearly pulled daddy into the bushes. Whoops.
I hope we do it again soon, and I hope the next few months speed past so we can go for longer and faster rides!

Great adventures to come Misaki
I hope so!
I taught my Rottie Lola to wear a harness and pull me along on rollerblades! Unfortunately, I’d spent so long training her to walk to heel, running out in front of me was a difficult concept for her to grasp! She’s getting better at it though, and it’s loads of fun! Misaki should try it.
Great idea! Daddy has roller skates…:-)
Sounds like your Dad will be in for a few exciting adventures himself….
Yep, and we were only going slow, imagine if we were going fast!! Mummy thought it was hilarious
We need to enter you in a sled contest, where you can win one and use it to take your dad and mom to work.
Mummy would love that!! She says she can’t afford a proper sled so is thinking about tying me to a tesco trolley instead BOL
I think you’re going to have loads of fun!
We sure are!
Hey Misaki, Jet here.
Love seeing such great photos of you. I forget how young you are, since you always write with such maturity. I did the same thing to my human teenage sister… saw a squirrel and nearly pulled her over…
That’s cos mummy helps me write them and she’s ANCIENT bol
Sounds like a super plan Misaki. We know you will love it. Have a lovely Monday.
Best wishes Molly
Thanks Molly. Hope you’re having a good day!
Squirrels are exciting, and hard to ignore. Chasing them on a bike ride might be a deal breaker. You have a smart brain, M. You’ll learn fast and have lots of fun.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
I’ll try, I’m just not sure I can resist the allure of chasing squirrels:-)
That’s an adventure for the whole family;o) For cycling we better use the “Plan B”: me in a bike trailer – that’s better for dad’s health ;o)
Well I don’t blame you Easy, get them to do all the hard work
Mom tried that, I jumped up and knocked her off..Won’t be doing that one again..bol xx00xx
Mollie and Alfie
Uh oh Mollie. Well I guess that was one way of getting out of it. Poor mummy though!
Oh fun! Good for you Misaki behaving so well (mostly) for the bike ride with Dad. Hopefully the next one will be squirrel-free so you won’t have that distraction but then again squirrel chasing can be VERY fun!
Kitty Hugs, Sammy
Sammy, squirrel chasing is the best! Do you chase them too??
I used to chase them when I was a bit younger….these days I get about halfway to them before I realize they’re about six times FASTER than I am and I just give up and watch!!
Kitty Hugs, Sammy
Yeah, that distraction thing may prove to be a problem. Oh well, he’ll learn to stay upright eventually. *snicker*
Hehehehe Rumpy, you’re right there. I’m not sure if I can resist chasing them if I see them.
Mommy doesn’t like riding bikes with dogs but she did try it with my sister. By accident, Katie did something that caused mom’s bike to fall over which scared Katie and from then on, Katie ran perfectly by the side of mom’s bike, never pulled or anything again. I know huskies love running with bikes, so have fun!
Sounds like your sis really got the hang of it. I hope I will too!
‘Squirrel!’ Oh sounds like you’ll soon be off exploring all over the place with your daddy and his bike, I’m jealous! My mum doesn’t have a bike because she can’t ride one anymore unless it’s adapted. Glad you had a fun Sunday out with your humans, you’ll catch that squirrel next time. Wags and sniffs, Toby xox
Mummy’s not good on a bike, so she’s thinking about converting a tesco trolly which she sits in and I can pull along – I’m not so sure about that bol
BOL I’ll wait for the photos of that! My mummy thinks at some point she’ll have to invest in one of those mobility scooter thingies I see the little dogs riding around on with their old people. I’m not so sure about the idea but so long as she gets one that can go off roading!
That would be amazing!
I’m sure your mummy already knows about this, but just in case she doesn’t, she might want to check out http://www.motability.co.uk/
She does and keeps looking to see what they offer, paranoia over using it stops her though. I don’t understand the paranoia I think it would be a great idea and I’d be able to meet loads more friends! I’ll convince her one day!
I hope you do!
Yeah humans are funny like that – they don’t like their bikes being diverted by us, even if it’s to show them something interesting. Go figure.
Sooo true Daisy! I’ll never work them out!
That could be tons of fun, if you don’t pull dad into the bushes that is.
Hehehe I’ll try not to!
Biking with your dog is so much fun!
I’m really looking forward to being big enough to go for nice long rides:-)
Why Miss Misaki I am not surprised at all that you were good with Dad on the bike, and when you dashed to see the squirrel, well…that’s what dogs do, right!? Good job Misaki, paw pats, Savvy
I guess that’s true Savvy!
They’re secretly training you for the Iditarod in March.
Maybe they are! That would be pawesome! Wanna be on my sled team??
I’ll pass. Peeps come here in the winter-even one from Alaska that I know. I’ve never been in the cold.
What fun! So glad you didn’t knock your Dad off of the bike though BOL!
Well it was a bit hairy for a minute there, but yes he managed to stay on bol
You see I’d love to take Boomer and Dottie for bike rides but I know I’d end up in the bushes for sure!
Glad to hear I’m not the only one who gets distracted!
nothing like a great adventure!
So true!
What fun, Misaki! You’re going to have even more fun down the line
Oink oink,
Katie and Coccolino the mini pig
Thanks Cocco, I hope so!
Oh, you’re going to have lots of fun!
I’m so excited, I just want to fast forward till I can do it again!
Hi Misaki…I’ve seen puppies and peoples do that before and it looked like the people were having fun; however, I never ever was able to get the real story from the pup…good to know you had as much fun as Dad!!
hugs madi
Hehehe yeah, we pups sure do enjoy it too!
Oh, that sounds like tons of fun Misaki!!! I’m sure your Dads will show you how it’s done befores he takes you out for a serious ride. I hear there are some terriers that can do it too, butts apparently I am NOT one of em. Nope. Too many things to stop and sniff and too many squirrels and kittehs to chase! Put it all together, and you have one bloody Moms!! BOL (not pretty…)
Kisses,
Ruby
That’s why mummy says daddy has to be the one holding my lead BOL
What a great idea. Looks like a great biking path.
It sure is:-)
Oh what fun!
I hope the next few months fly by!
Sounds like a lot of fun, Misaki!! And those leaves look like a lot of fun too! xx
They sure are! I love pouncing on them!
Anytime you can run is great! Lee and Phod
It sure is
A lot of peeps bike with their dogs here, and some of them use an attachment called a Springer. Mom would love to do it too but she is sure the squirrels would get our attention and it would be broken boned Mom for sure.
Hope you can do it with your Dad – looks like fun.
Woos – Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
I’ll get daddy to check that out, thanks. i need proper harness too, but there’s plenty of time to find a good one.
Mummy won’t cycle with me for that reason, so daddy gets to be the one with the broken bones BOL
Wow–pullin’ daddy over! What a great idea! Maybe when you’re bigger, you can take him wherever you want to go!
That’s my plan!
Hey Misaki,
You’re looking great in your red harness dude!! I used to bark so much at bikes, but the humans taught me to get over it!! I thought I was supposed to chase them like they were sheep!! Tee Hee
Have fun,
Your pal Snoopy
Hehehe I’ve chased a few myself. Mummy thinks it’s because a lot of the cyclists wear high-vis jackets. But I just like that they go fast!
Sounds like you’re in for lots of fun, but don’t do what our Maxi did and run in front of the bike while you are both going down a hill, it can do major damage to Daddy and the bike.
Eeeek! That sounds scary! Will try to remember that
I don’t know who got the biggest fright, Maxi or her Daddy
Your people are very smart to teach you to run with the bike slowly. That sounds like great fun.
It is! I’m looking forward to be being big enough to do it properly
Misaki I can’t believe you chase people on bikes! I am getting a fantastic visual right now and having a great laugh
I probably shouldn’t tell you this, but there is a family of large grey ground squirrels living in my front yard right now. I counted a Mama (the size of a small cat) and 5 babies so far. They are nibbling my terra-cotta pots and harvesting grass seeds, it makes for great watching… and lots of salivating.
That sounds like a lot of fun Misaki! I bet your mom and dad are really proud of how good you were around the bicycle! Just wait until you go for a good run with your dad; you’re going to love it
